Letter J, Joseph, jelly beans and Jack

This morning we had our opening exercises, talked about the weather, and then got out our number puzzles and the kids had fun finding the objects or pictures, half that matched the numbers.  There were three puzzles one with just the objects and the number  the second with objects added to the original number and third the number take away a certain number.
Then to reinforce their recognizing the numbers, I had them go to the caterpiller and remove numbers as they were called out, then had them replace them in proper order.
Next we took the template of the letter "J" and tried to see how many jelly  beans would fit on the letters..

Then to get the wiggles out, we had time for the kids to tell about their treasres from home.  Lily brought this little dollie for us to see

 Hyrum brought his airplane
Sam brought a couple of cars
Then  I introduced the story in the Bible (Genesis) about Joseph and his coat of many colors
And the kids were given pictures to color of Joseph and his coat
Then the kids decided that they wanted to play the Candy Land Game, and so we took our colorful jelly beans and played a game
Everyone loves this game and it was fun to watch them calling out their colors

We looked at the pictures on this page, said the words, and gave the sounds of the letters that they begin with.  Lots of "j" words.

Jo Dee read the story of "the house that Jack built".  We put pictures of the things around the circle on a game board and then we repeated the story

Then we read one last book.  The Jungle Tails and the kids loved it!!

All in all, we had a good day talking about things that begin with the letter "J"
