This morning we were introduced to a number of things. After we had our opening exercises, I gave each of the kids a piece of paper with dots on it. they were to put a drop of glue on each of the spots to have them feel how to squeeze the glue bottle and just squeeze out enough glue to cover the dots. Then they placed a piece of colored tissue paper squares, pinched to look like little butterflies. Here is Sammy who has completed his paper
Lily did very well for her first time using a glue bottle
Janaye was doing a super job with her glue project
Joey and Janaye were comparing their papers.
After we completed the glue job, the children were asked to find the colored (red, yellow and blue) shapes on the wall. Here is Lily looking for the red circle.
Sam found the big yellow circle
Joey and Lily are looking for a blue rectangle
Hyrum found a red rectangle
Some of the time they just followed each other around trying to find the shape they needed
Miss JoDee read them some of the "color" books thatwe have. This one was "Brown Bear, Brown Bear" one of her favorites
Miss J also had the kids singing five little monkey and holding up their fingers for the counting
Miss J also read "I know an old woman who swallowed a fly" The kids really like this book.
Then they took some time to put puzzles together
Janaye is putting one together that is a little harder
I caught Hyrum reading books in the corner. I think he preferred this to the puzzles
Only one more piece
We also played stop the music. When the music played they moved from one colored circle to another and if they were on one, they had to call out the color they were on. We played several times and one little boy said it was the most fun he had ever had. Well, I doubt that, but they did have a lot of fun.
Another good day at preK and this is why I love teaching your kiddoes.
